Great TV for the price May 4, 2009 Brian (NJ USA) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I've had this tv for a few weeks now and I'm quite happy with it. The picture is great. Sound is very good for a flat panel LCD. I currently have my HD cable box connected to it and my Playstation 3. I also am using an DVI to HDMI cable which connects my laptop to my tv. This hookup is great for watching tv shows over the web (like from Hulu), or also as a photo viewer. Blue-ray movies look amazing. Video games on my PS3 look amazing. I was not a big fan of the "champaign" colored accent on the bottom but once I got the tv home, it is very subtle, much less noticeable than in the picture on this website. I also like how the screen is not one of those ultra glossy ones that reflects too much. Also, as you'll read below, this tv is not a discontinued model. It is a new 2009 model and is active on Sharp's website. For the price, I will say you can't really go wrong here. You'll be very happy with it.
Great HDTV for those on a budget! May 26, 2009 xpolarbearx (Virginia, USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I actually found this TV cheaper at Costco and the return policy and extra warranty was a no brainer for me. I was looking for a 37-40" LCD 1080P HDTV for a few months now, waiting for prices to drop a little more before buying one. My price range was around $800 max so it narrowed my choices. There was a samsung 40" 1080P which I missed out on several months ago and it's been hard finding an identical deal. I purchased it knowing I had the option to return it within 90 days and so far it's been a great TV. I have a cablevision HDTV box connected as well as logitech speakers and the set up is great. It was a gift for my gf and she absolutely loves her new TV! If you're on a budget I recommend buying it... but not on amazon because you can find it cheaper elsewhere with price guarantee.
Great deal, phenomenol picture quality October 27, 2009 C. Morris (Durham, nc) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just purchased this tv last week and although it wasn't 120HZ i just couldn't justify the extra couple hundred dollars just to get that one last feature.
Pretty easy to set up...well, my dad set it up LOL! We tinkered with the tint, contrast, brightness setting for about 5 minutes to get the look we wanted b/c those factory default settings are bunk. As soon as it was good to go we flipped to an HD channel and watched a football game with such mind blowing clarity I swear it was better than being at the game.
I love this tv, if I could I would marry it and have it's 19 inch portable babies. Ok, not really but you know what I'm saying. I just wish ALL my HD channels were 1080 b/c now that I have a great tv i can really tell the difference between 480, 720, and 1080.
The only downside is the picture quality is so good I don't like watching my old DVDs in 480 anymore and now I'm dying to buy a Blue-Ray so I can get the maximum impact of the sharpness and clarity.

Great TV for cheap. May 27, 2009 M. C. Cunningham (Jacksonville, FL) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I picked up one of these last week for $589 at a regular big box electronics store after some rewards I had there. I'd recommend it to anyone. Very quality build, nice glossy materials, unit screams quality compared to others I researched including Vizio, Insignia, Olevia.
I sit about 10' from this screen, displaying a Windows media center I have connected via HDMI at 1920x1080. It looks amazing right out of the box. I have the TV in a cabinet on its included stand, which was easy to set up and is also very high quality and glossy looking. The energy saver mode is useful and the picture is really great and clear, especially after adjusting colors with a THX DVD.
Yes, the remote is a little ghetto, but you should be using a universal remote anyway. Ditto with the sound complaint and using a stereo. Don't get a nice HDTV like this and then be cheap with its stock audio and remote, or you already know what will happen. Jeez, you just saved enough compared to a Samsung or Sony TV to BUY a cheap surround stereo that will sound good.
In short, pick one of these up if you're on the market. You won't be sorry.
