Product Description Mitsubishi experience is brought to life through timeless lines, the pursuit of quality and a commitment to innovation while never losing sight of what matters most to our customers. This is the Mitsubishi philosophy of design, evident in our 148 Series 1080p LCD Flat-Panel HDTVs. The Ultra-Thin Frame of our 148 Series LCD Flat Panel HDTVs puts the focus on our large screen. The result is an all-picture sensation that puts you in the middle of all the action, while our Smooth120Hz Film Motion feature gives you a "blur free" image during fast moving content while preserving the integrity of film by eliminating annoying "film judder". And with NetCommand w/IR Learning, you can eliminate clutter from your life by controlling all of your audio and video equipment with one remote. After all, technology should simplify your life, not complicate it.

Beautiful Picture!!! January 8, 2009 N. Shanks (Scottsdale, AZ.) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this set on the picture quality alone. While it had all the useful AV inputs one would normally expect, picture is it. Best reproduction of skin tones. I hope Mitsubishi comes out with a B-ray disc-player for home theather use. One less remote! Buy it. I used a TV test disc to put the set thru it's color spectrum paces. The ability to adjust 6 colors vs 3 colors is a purist delight. Too bad the orignator's of the displayed material aren't as picky or station to station transmission quality. Ran the movie "Bridges of Madison County" DVD(My wife's favorite)a couple of times to appreciate the outstand rendition of the "film". "WALL-E" is another must see. (Yes, I bought the DVD and Iam a "old" guy. No grand-kids.)
Beautiful October 24, 2008 German Vasquez Jr. (Scottsdale, AZ USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Great picture on this tv. It has a thin bezel (frame around the front of the tv) so you feel like it's bigger than it really is. It has many connections, although it lacks a pc connection, so you can't use this as a computer monitor. This tv has 120hz smooth motion which is supposed to reduce blur when scenes move too fast; that feature looks cool, but it can get tiresome and even make you kind of dizzy, luckily, you can turn it off. The control is simple and it lights up in and orange-red hue. The HD is great and produces crisp colors, especially Blu Ray HD. If you won't be using BluRay or HD, I would get something cheaper just because you won't be taking full advantage of what this tv has to offer. The speakers are not bad, but I'm sure if you buy this you will want to hook it up to a surround sound system. All in all, a great tv.
Amazing tv and value - premium picture quality in a 40" size November 23, 2008 J. Halas (North Carolina) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Prepare to duck during action scenes. This TV brings movies to life with a 3-dimensional quality I've not scene in other brands. You will swear that the movie is being filmed right in front of you. It has all the state-of-the-art bells and whistles: 120 Hz smooth motion, 10-bit panels, deep color, x.v. color, DLNA, frame rate adjustment...all work beautifully. 120 Hz smooth motion looks excellent to me, unlike the previous reviewer. It also sharpens up old VCR and low-res DVD recordings to make them look more 3-D and better than ever. The only minor point is that the backlight will shine through slightly at the extreme four corners during an all-black screen (like when a movie is changing scenes). This is easily remedied by turning the backlight level down. The TV is factory set much too bright anyways. Everyone loves Sony, but no point in spending an extra $500 for the name, especially when it will also raise the price of your extended warranty. I also bought my Mitsubishi open-box through Amazon Warehouse Deals and saved hundreds. it arrived the same week in perfect condition. Thank you Amazon.

1. Delivered carefully and in excellent condition.
2. Plugged it in and it lit right up
3. Has an instant on and warm up mode (saves electricity)
4. Wide range of inputs - my son has a Sony Bravia with one HDMI port. This has four. I have a high definition video DVD player into one HDMI and Verizon FIOS in the other. The TV recognizes the inputs so to address them, click "input" and it flip flops back and forth.
5. Speakers are OK. I have bypassed them using 2 big AMT 5 stereo speakers with Heil air motion transformers, center speaker, sub-woofer and two back speakers. The amplifier (big Sony) takes in the digital audio and sends out true DTS, 5.1 etc. With the TV and sound - t is better than going to the ball game or the movies.
6. My FIOS remote covers all the functions of the TV remote except for menu setups - fairly standard programming codes. I forgot the exact code.
7. I removed a 32" tv (150 lbs) and it took two of us to do it. I put this one in by myself. It has a very thin frame and can fit into many of the entertainment centers. The new 40" Bravia XBRs are just 1" wider.
8. The picture in HD is unbelievable. You can see individual windows in panoramic views of cities - faces on people in stadiums.
9. Price/performance? I prefer this over my son's Bravia. The new XBR ($2200) may be better than his older one. This was only $1600.
Most satisfied December 20, 2008 Larry G. Knauff (League City, TX) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I needed a new TV that would fit in a cabinet in my house. With the thin bezel, I was able to maximize screen size for this space with this 40" model. I am most impressed with the picture quality, even during the daytime as the family room has a window wall and is bright. I had seen this model at various Houston stores but Amazon.com had the best price and saved enough to pay for the extended warranty.
